The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Music Theater Conference has announced plans to showcase and workshop new musicals by theater artists Nathan Christensen and Scott Murphy, Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond, and Mkhululi Mabija and Michael Thurber. The projects will be developed during the conference's 2013 summer session.

Book writer and lyricist Nathan Christensen and composer Scott Murphy's Broadcast looks at the dawn of wireless and questions the effect technology has on human interaction. The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes, with a book and lyrics by Christopher Dimond and music by Michael Kooman, is the tale of a man who wakes up to find that his life has become a musical. The third tuner set to be workshopped is South African Mkhululi Mabija and American Michael Thurber's collaboration Goddess, the tale of an African jazz singer.

O'Neill Theater Center's National Music Theater Conference was founded in 1978 and, since that time, has given starts to such well-known musicals as In the Heights, Avenue Q, and [title of show].
