Jill Abramovitz, Jared Gertner, Michael Winther, et al. Set for Goodspeed’s Band Geeks!

Goodspeed Musicals has announced casting for Band Geeks!, to run May 13 – June 6 at the Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, CT. Gordon Greenberg will direct the production, which will feature choreography by Denis Jones and musical direction by David Loud.

Band Geeks! features music by Mark Allen, Gaby Alter, and Tommy Newman, lyrics by Alter and Newman, and a book by Newman and Goldberg and is based on a concept by Newman. The show focuses on a marching band that is facing dwindling membership and financial support and two members’ efforts to save the group from extinction.

The cast will feature Jared Gertner (Elliott), Katie Klaus (Laura), Michael Winther (Mr. Hornsby), F. Michael Haynie (Spitz), Patti Murin (Nicole), Ruthie Ann Miles (Molly), Nkrumah Gatling (Kyle), Michael Millan (Alvin), Jacey Powers (Natalia), Matt Braver (Stewart), Jill Abramovitz (Ms. Dixon), and Tommar Wilson (Jake).

The creative team will include Anna Louizos (scenic design), Gregg Barnes (costume design), and Jeff Croiter (lighting design).
