Arsenic and Old Lace, the classic Joseph Kesseling play, features an author and raving bachelor, Mortimer Brewster, who goes against his own advice and marries. He gets into a sticky situation when he takes his new bride to visit his sweet old aunts. He is shocked to learn that the kind old spinsters have a favorite pastime of luring gentlemen to the house only to serve them a concoction of elderberry wine with a touch of arsenic!
