Datz, LaVerdiere, Metz, Stapleton, et al. Set for Theatre Aspen Summer Season

Theatre Aspen has announced casting for its 2008 summer season at the Alex Kaufman Theatre in Rio Grande Park.

The season begins with Little Shop of Horrors, June 26-August 16, which will be directed and choreographed by Mark Martino. The production will star Jamie LaVerdiere as Seymour, Gordon Stanley as Mushnik, Kate Fahrner as Audrey, and Bobby Mason as the Voice of Audrey II.

Up next, Jay Sandrich helms Richard Dresser’s baseball comedy Rounding Third, July 10-August 22, which stars Kevin Stapleton and Richard Gallagher. Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens’ family musical Seussical, July 11-August 16, which will star Tom Erickson, Nina Gabianelli, Jennetta Meitler-Howell, Peggy Mundinger, and Natalie Dulaney.

Completing the season will be Michael Unger’s production pf Beth Henley’s Pulitzer-winning play Crimes of the Heart, July 24-August 23, starring Janet Metz, Lisa Datz, Sally Mae Dunn, and Sandy Rustin.
