Colorado Springs' TheatreWorks has announced the productions planned for its 2013-2014 season, which will include several classics by some of history's best-loved playwrights. Shakespeare's enchanting romance Cymbeline will open the season from August 1-24.

Seven Guitars, August Wilson's tale of a charismatic blues singer in a Pittsburgh tenement, will continue the season from September 12-29. Then, Death of a Salesman, a great American play by Arthur Miller about the out-of-work, discontented Willy Loman, will play October 24-November 10.

Heading into the winter holiday season, TheatreWorks will present It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, a version of the classic film adapted by Joe Landry, running December 5-22. The new year will bring Conor McPherson's fascinating Irish tale The Weir, from January 23-February 9, and Georg Büchner's tragic story of a poor young soldier Woyzeck, from March 6-16.

David Ives' Venus in Fur, the recent Broadway hit about a domineering director who is adapting a classic erotic novel, will play March 20-April 6. And The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni will close the season with the comic story of the unfortunate Truffaldino, who must satisfy not one, but two demanding bosses. The Servant of Two Masters will run April 24-May 11.

TheatreWorks is a professional theatre company and a cultural outreach program of the University of Colorado — Colorado Springs. It was founded in 1975 and produces both classics and new plays featuring artists from the region.
