Cincinnati Ballet returns to Playhouse Square Center with its enchanting version of The Nutcracker. Danced to the famous Peter Ilych Tchaikovsky score, the production captures the spirit of the season and delivers all the splendor that Cleveland audiences expect - a traditional Christmas Eve celebration with a giant Christmas tree; Marie's dream about toy soldiers battling evil mice; and a whirlwind of dancing snowflakes in a winter wonderland. Playhouse Square Center's Dance and Audience Development Manager Linda Jackson said, "The Nutcracker is a traditional holiday event that appeals to all ages and audiences--not just to ballet patrons. [The show] delighted Clevelanders in 2005 with beautiful sets and costumes and talented principal dancers performing in the lead roles of 'Marie' and 'The Nutcracker Prince.'
