The National Ballet of Canada's version of The Firebird closely follows the traditional Russian folk tale about a bird with plumage that burns like the sun and glitters like a cluster of jewels. This spectacular bird flies in and out of an enchanted garden to eat golden apples from a magical tree.

The Firebird is full of bold dancing, exotic creatures and fanfare. The ballet features a cast of characters including a demon and his entourage, a prince, magical princesses and petrified knights-all part of a mystical storybook kingdom.
