Synopsis

Suspended in the world of "Steampunk" subculture, this adaptation of Shakespeare's crowd pleasing comedy features the universal themes of love, honor and betrayal. The action is set against a chess game background, which highlights the play's main theme of human duplicity and, in typical GroundUp fashion, gender roles are blurred as a male is featured in the role of Hero. This family-friendly, 90-minute version of Much Ado About Nothing is a great introduction to Shakespeare as well as a new take on a classic comedy. Patrons are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets and/or chairs to this outdoor production.
