WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

A knee-jerk reaction is an instantaneous, an immediate response to an extreme situation. In those moments we show our true selves, our instincts, proclivities, our secret prejudices. The Consortium Project's Knee-Jerk examines these moments, some more obvious others more permanent still. Please join us at Chicago's first annual Fringe Festival.

This show contains strong language, nudity, violence, drugs, and drinking.

This show is presented as part of the Chicago Fringe Festival.

The Audience has a Knee Jerk Reaction
Many scenes ended on a provocative note, so it made sense to end the show in the same manner. This is one of those shows with no bows at the end, and it worked very effectively here. A Fringe volunteer sitting behind said flatly, I am not sure what is going on. Several of the actors peeked out from behind the black back wall, not wanting to leave with so many bemused patrons still in our seats. We patrons will show them! If you are not doing the customary bows, then we in the audience will not leave until we are good and ready. Takes one to know one. Enjoy our knee jerk reaction. It was a delicious exchange, fourth wall be damned. A Fringe techie was on the stage, changing lighting for the next show, and she suddenly became part of the next scene. She was convincing as a technie. Oh wait, did the show end? Once the Getting to Know Tape ended, this show ended.
