Porchlight Announces Cast for New Stage Adaptation of Miracle on 34th Street

Porchlight Music Theatre has announced casting for its new stage adaptation of the holiday film classic, Miracle on 34th Street, to play Theatre Building Chicago, November 20-January 3. L. Walter Stearns will direct.

Based on the novel by Valentine Davies, as well as the film, Porchlight's production was adapted by Patricia Di Benedetto Snyder, Will Severin and John Vreeke. It will also add traditional holiday music arranged by Chicago composer, Jon Steinhagen. Following each performance, the audience is invited to visit with Santa Claus and share a Christmas wish.

The cast will star Jeff Award winner Jim Sherman as Kris Kringle/ Santa Claus, Christa Buck Van Ermen as Doris, Karl Hamilton as Fred Gailey, Jim Heatherly as Judge Harper, Laney Kraus-Taddeo as Susan Walker, James Nedrud as Alfred/Bailiff, Rus Rainear as Mr. Sawyer, Chuck Sisson as Mr. Macy, and Steve Tomlitz as Thomas Mara.

The creative team will include Eugene Dizon (music direction), Brenda Didier (choreography), Jana Anderson (costumes), Liviu Pasare (projections), and Ian Zywica (scenic design).
