Full cast and creative team information has been announced for the Porchlight Music Theatre production of Candide, September 13-November 2, at Theatre Building Chicago. Porchlight Music Theatre's artistic director, L. Walter Stearns, will direct.

Based on Voltaire's novella, Candide is part sophisticated operetta, part wacky screwball comedy -- a musical expression of Voltaire's tongue-in-cheek send-up of optimistic philosophies.

The cast will star David Girolmo as Dr. Voltaire/Pangloss, Ryan Lanning as Candide, Caitlin Collins as Cunegonde, and feature Kristen Freilich as the Old Lady, Jeremy Rill as Maximilian, Sarah Hayes as Paquette, as well as Christin Boulette, Cameron Brune, Sean Effinger-Dean, Gerald Richardson, Shannon Strodel, Jennifer Tjepkema, Joseph Tokarz and Daniel Waters.

The creative team includes Eugene Dizon (musical direction), Bill Morey (costume design), Kurt Sharp (scenic design), and Andrew Waters (choreography).
