Breon Bliss and Alex Goodrich will star in the Chicago premiere of Gutenberg! The Musical!, to play The Royal George Theatre, June 19-July 27. Obie Award winning director Alex Timbers helms the production, with co-direction by Ian Unterman and musical direction by T.O. Sterrett.

In this two-man musical "play within a play" spoof, a pair of aspiring writers performs a backers' audition for their new project -- a big, splashy musical about printing press inventor Johann Gutenberg. The musical was the recipient of three New York Musical Theatre Festival Awards, including Excellence in Musical Theatre Writing (Book) for Scott Brown and Anthony King.

Bliss, who will play Bud Davenport, was recently seen in Rex and Black, White & Gray. He is a co-founder of A Crew of Patches, which just finished its fifth successful year bringing full professional Shakespeare productions to thousands of area high school students. Goodrich, who will play Doug Simon, recently played . Philinte in Greasy Joan and Co.'s The Misanthrope, and other Chicago credits include Smoke on the Mountain, How Can You Run with a Shell on Your Back?, She Stoops to Conquer, and Dustbowl Gothic.
