Brian Childers and Karin Leone will star in The Kid From Brooklyn: The Danny Kaye Musical, which will play the Mercury Theater, May 28-August 24, with an opening set for June 7.

The musical is based on the turbulent and triumphant life of Danny Kaye, chronicling the actor's career and his relationships on and off the stage. Directed by Peter J. Loewy, it features a book by Mark Childers and Peter J. Loewy, and musical direction by Charlie Harrison and David Cohen.

The cast will also include Christina Purcell and Adam Lebow. The creative team will include Susie Paplow (choreographer), Shon LeBlanc (costumes), and Larry Basso (set).

Childers, who portrays Danny Kaye, received the 2002 Helen Hayes Award for "Outstanding Leading Actor in a Musical" and the Mary Goldwater Award for his performance as Danny Kaye in Danny and Sylvia: A Musical Love Story. Leone, who plays Sylvia Fine, originated the role of Sylvia Fine, for which she received a Best Actress in a Musical nomination by the Star-Ledger.
