Amanda Dehnert, John Musial, Ed Schmidt, et al. Set for Lookingglass Theatre’s 2011-2012 Season

Lookingglass Theatre Company has announced the three shows that will comprise its 2011-2012 season.

The season will open with John Musial’s The Great Fire, a look at the fire that devastated much of Chicago in 1871. Musial will direct the play, which he originally wrote and staged in 1999.

In addition, J. Nicole Brooks will direct Ed Schmidt’s Mr. Rickey Calls a Meeting, an investigation of the events surrounding Jackie Robinson’s move to baseball’s major leagues; and Amanda Dehnert will stage Eastland, a new musical, with a book by Andrew White and music by Andre Pluess and Ben Sussman, about a tragic series of events on a boat along the Chicago River.
