(© Joanne Savio) | Lyric Opera of Chicago has announced the eight productions for its 2009-2010 season, beginning on September 26 with Puccini's Tosca starring Deborah Voigt, Vladimir Galouzine, and James Morris.
The season will also feature Gary Griffin's production of Lehar's The Merry Widow; Stephen Landridge's production of Berlioz's The Damnation of Faust, starring Paul Groves, Susan Graham, and John Relyea; Gounod's Faust, starring Piotr Beczala, Rene Pape, and Ana Maria Martinez; Verdi's Emani, starring Salvatore Licitra; Jonathan Miller's production of Janacek's Katya Kabanova with Karita Mattila in the title role; Donizetti's The Elixir of Love, starring Nicole Cabell; and Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro starring Daniele de Niese, Joyce DiDonato, and Mariusz Kwiecen.
