WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

In this musical fantasy, Max and his father are faced with the ritual conflict of bedtime. Max's dad works to get his son to bed by reading favorite Sendak stories such as Hector Protector set to music. As these stories come to life in Max's bedroom, he becomes more mischievous and naughty. Finally Max is ordered to bed without any dinner. He then begins his musical journey to Where The Wild Things Are, a new musical number written by Emerald City's writing team, Alyn Cardarelli and Grammy-nominated Steve Goers. Written and illustrated by Maurice Sendak, Where the Wild Things Are is the 1964 Caldecott Medal winner. Emerald City's musical adaptation uses song, dance and puppetry to breathe new life into three of Sendak's children's books - Where The Wild Things Are, Hector Protector and Very Far Away.
