WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

When its Twelfth Night, the world turns topsy-turvy. Fools are wise men, servants rule, and comic hijinks abound. Separated twins wash ashore in a land of mystery and longing. Shakespeare's lyrical comedy brims with the combustible chemistry of human emotion and the sparkling magic of discovered love. Karin Coonrod directs. This play runs in rotating repertory with Piano. Court Theatre hosts Gay and Lesbian Night on Thursday, June 14 as a special event associated with its current production of Shakespeare's gender-bending comedy. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres, wine tasting and live music in the Court Theatre lobby, followed by a performance of Twelfth Night. Chicago Free-Press theatre critic and columnist Jennifer Vanasco moderates the post-performance discussion. Tickets for the reception, performance and post-show discussion are $35 per person.
