WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Remy Bumppo Associate Artistic Director and thinkTank Producer Shawn Douglass elaborates on the themes of The inSecurity Blanket: "We want to promote conversation with the community on whether our freedom is covered or smothered by current national security policy. The plays will help connect our audience to the impact on individuals of the Patriot Act, tightened border security, and other measures put into place since 9/11. Our rotating schedule means one evening's post-show conversation might be focused on the surveillance of South Asian-Americans, another evening may engender discussion about interrogation methods or airport profiling. Remy Bumppo and our arts partners hope that these very human stories will challenge both the hearts and heads of our audience."
