WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
This Chicago premiere is a delightful Los Angeles hit about growing up gay and Baptist in the Deep South. In a church in Dallas, TX, playwright Del Shores recreates the sermons that Mark, TJ, Benny, and Andrew endured during adolescence, and the beautiful hymns that gave them hope. Alternately funny and heartbreaking, Southern Baptist Sissies is a wonderful and poignant coming of age story set against the backdrop of one of the modern world?s most traditional religions.
Beginning July 31, there are Wednesday performances at 7:30 pm. The Saturday, July 20 performance is at 7:30pm.
