Filmmaker Joe Steiff's critically-acclaimed solo debut returns to Live Bait for four performances only. A poignant mosaic of grandmothers, government cheese, firearms, and growing up gay in rural Appalachia. San Francisco-based writer and performer Erika Lopez is standing in a line for a welfare check when she suddenly catches of whiff of... what exactly? Desperation? Poverty? Cold peanuts? Known for her philosophical/bad-sex/motorcycle novel, Flaming Iguanas, Lopez's outrageous critique of life in the poor lane promises to keep jaws dropping.
