River North Chicago Dance Company continues its 20th anniversary season with the annual Valentine's Weekend Engagement, Feb. 12 & 13 featuring two world premieres by in-demand choreographers Robert Battle and Lauri Stallings, and one Chicago and company premiere "Ella," a bravura solo set to scat vocals of Ella Fitzgerald, choreographed by Battle. Additional repertoire includes the smash hits which premiered during the Fall 2009 engagement -- "Forbidden Boundaries" by Artistic Director Frank Chaves and "Evolution of a Dream," set to a new version of the original song, "Sweet Dreams," by co-composers David Stewart and His Rock Fabulous Orchestra and Annie Lennox. River North favorites "Uhuru," by River North member Monique Haley and set to music Akoya Afrobeat, "Sentir em Nos" (Even for Us) a signature style duet by Chaves set to the powerful music of Tuscan tenor Andrea Bocelli and Dulce Pontes and "Tuscan Rift" with music by Andrew Bird and French composer Rene Aubry, also choreographed by Chaves, also return for the February engagement.
