WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
TUTA Theatre performs a postmodern "variety show" that finds Valya, an out-of-work actor, putting his skills to new use at the local police department. Helping to reconstruct murderous events and "acting" out the crimes, Valya finds his absurd reenactments merging and colliding with morbid visions, hilarious characters, and even singing and dancing. Set in post-Soviet Russia, this comedic satire by brothers Oleg and Vladimir Presnyakov says as much about Western values as it does Russia's current state of affairs.
