WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The fifth of Gilbert and Sullivan's many collaborations, Pirates of Penzance is the story of young Frederic - a young man mistakenly apprenticed to pirates until his 21st birthday. As the day, and his ultimate freedom, approaches, Frederic discovers he actually has another 63 years to serve because he was born on Feb. 29 - a leap year. His only solace is that his love, Mabel, agrees to wait for him faithfully.
