WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

We've collected the submissions, our judges have selected the very best, and now it's time to unveil the winners! This exciting fest will feature staged readings of the top five plays submitted - 3 from adult playwrights, and 2 from teen playwrights - performed by our professional actors. Don't miss these fun nights and your chance to see new works from up and coming playwrights. Congratulations to this years winners! 3rd Prize-The Principle of the Thing, a look into marriage and the validity of counseling, by Chris Shaw Swanson- Westerville, OH- January 20 at 7PM 2nd Prize-Shakespeare Restored,two 18th Century editors struggle over how best to save Shakespeare's scripts for future generations, by Scott Glander- Glenview, IL- January 27 at 7PM Teen Winners-Grin and Bear It, where three girl scouts attempt to earn their final merit badge and discover an unexpected adventure, by Naomi Rawitz- Buffalo Grove, IL Not Far From the Tree, a coming of age story about a boy struggling with loss, disorders, and family the summer before he leaves for college, by Joey Lubelfeld- Chicago, IL- February 3 at 7PM 1st Prize-Griffiths, the story of a boy's acceptance into an exclusive school that may have something to hide, by Norman Simon- Lincoln, NE- February 17 at 7PM
