Chicago Shakespeare presents Ben Carlson in the title role of Macbeth, directed by
Barbara Gaines.
Unrelenting -- from its dark beginning to its tragic conclusion -- Macbeth is one of Shakespeare's most enduring and haunting plays. In this story infused with superstition, ghosts and madness, Macbeth murders his king and all who stand in the way of his ambition.

The acting was great-especially MacDuff. However, the "special effects" almost ruined the whole experience for me. Does the director really think Chicago audiences are so unsophisticated that she needs to include ridiculous props to aid their understanding? The staging comes across as a cheesy interpretive dance due to the use of B-Film type horror flick props.
