The King of Navarre and his three noble companions, Berowne, Dumaine, and Longaville, have taken the ultimate oath to devote three years to their studies...at the most inconvenient time when the Princess of France and her three lovely ladies come for a visit. Unabashed by the men's desires, the women settle in, and needless to say, the King and his men comically fall in love. The comedy is so knee deep in witty puns and sophisticated wordplay that it is often considered the most flamboyantly intellectual play ever written by Shakespeare.
