Artistic Director Barbara Gaines explores the relationship between kingship and conscience in William Shakespeare's King John. A play about power politics, shifting allegiances and self-serving expediency, Shakespeare depicts a king, surrounded by many conflicting personalities and agendas, whose unsteady royal mind becomes just one element in a tense array of rapidly changing events. Previews: 3/20, 3/23, 3/24, 3/25, 3/26 at 7:30 p.m. with a 3 p.m. matinee on 3/21.
