WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Known for his outspoken position on politics and other issues, Mason is primed and ready for his return to the North Shore with his fresh and outrageous look at the state of the world. "The cantankerous Mason has pursued the Jewish joke with a tenacity and single-mindedness that exceed those of anyone else in show business," says the New York Times. A true American classic, Mason has been voted among the top-50 comedy acts ever by fellow comedians and comedy insiders.
Mason is renowned around the world and has been honored by both national and international leaders including South African President Nelson Mandela. His numerous accolades include a Tony, the Outer Critics Circle, two Ace and two Emmy Awards, and a Grammy nomination.
This rabbi-turned-comedian rose to be one of the hottest comics in America in the 1960s as a regular performer on "The Ed Sullivan Show." His first one-man show, "The World According to Me," began an unprecedented two-and-a-half-year run on Broadway in 1986 and was followed by seven additional critically and commercially successful one-man shows.
Mason has appeared in numerous television shows (his cameo as Rabbi Hyman Krustofsky on "The Simpsons" garnered him an Emmy). His films include the popular "History of the World, Part I, "The Jerk" and Caddyshack II." In 2005 Mason hosted a national live call-in show on Comcast which garnered three Telly Awards and was nominated for an Emmy. Mason has also hosted a nationally syndicated radio talk show, the weekly PBS talk television series "Crossing The Line" and the BBC radio show "The Mason-Felder Report." Mason currently hosts a nationally syndicated radio show covering politics, news and current affairs on The Talk Radio Network, which airs Sunday nights from 7 to 9 p.m. EST.
Mason, with long time friend and collaborator, Raoul Lionel Felder, has written numerous books. The most recent book is "Schmucks!: Our Favorite Fakes, Frauds, Lowlifes, Liars, the Armed and Dangerous, and Good Guys Gone Bad" (Harper Collins 2007). Mason also writes for the Jewish Press, and, with Felder, pens a bi-monthly column in the internet edition of The American Spectator and political columns for The Washington Times, and World Net Daily. Fans can also check out Mason's internet blog and his bi-weekly vlog on YouTube for more of his unique brand of commentary.
