If Trane Wuz Here is a band with Savion Glover, reg e gaines and Matana Roberts. Raw, improvisational in performance and tone, the band uses a dancer, a poet and saxophone player to tribute and celebrate jazz through John Coltrane standards and other legendary jazz voices, with their own original jazz music, uplifting the spirit that Coltrane often sought to invoke. The result is a meditative tour de force performance that inspires, provokes and cleanses the soul, as if Trane wuz really here.
