I Gotcha tells the story of legendary R&B singer-songwriter-jack leg preacher Joe Tex (of "I Gotcha," "Skinny Legs And All" and "Bump No More With No Big Fat Woman" fame) as he celebrates his 45th birthday as the hottest soul singer in America. But to his surprise, he receives uninvited visits from his ill-fated group from ten years past, The Soul Clan. They disingenuously toast their old buddy, but slowly reveal their real plan to lobby the reluctant Joe Tex to reunite for a benefit concert that could save their fledgling careers. Rump shaking rhythms and fun loving soul music from Joe Tex and his infamous Soul Clan brethren (Solomon Burke, Don Covay, Ben E. King, and the late Wilson Pickett) make this show enjoyable for all.
