WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Village Players Theater has decided the best way to warm up their Studio stage is with Hot Stories, a late night event with hot soup and even hotter stories. The fundraiser's goal is to raise $2,800 to help Village Players Theatre improve the heating situation in it's Studio stage, the noted "intimate" space where the Women on the Cutting Edge season plays are performed. Curating the event is Megan Wells. Wells has been performing since the age of eight, obtaining a BFA from Illinois Wesleyan and an MFA from Illinois State University. She has experience performing in traditional theater, in the corporate world, and as a storyteller. Most recently she has appeared at Village Players Theatre as Mellisa in A.R. Gurney's "Love Letters" and directed Wiliam Gibson's "The Miracle Worker". Helping Wells with this goal are acclaimed story tellers from the area, including Janice Del Negro, Paul McKenna, Linda Gorham, Kim Hoag, Margaret Burk, Joshua Safford, and Jeff and Jack. The event will start with hot soup and music at 10:45. The storytelling will begin at 11pm. The evening will be full of folktales, poerty, myths, and music of a "hot" subject manner, though not explicit or raunchy in nature. The material is suitable for theater-lovers 18 and up.
