Hizzoner is a personal portrait of Richard J. Daley, the former longtime mayor of Chicago whose life was entwined with the city he loved in an inextricable way. The show concentrates on the man himself and how he viewed Chicago as his city; how he saw his associates and the population who depended on his leadership. Hizzoner offers up personalites who worked with Daley and some - like Jesse Jackson - with whom he had a crucial crossing of paths.

The show was written by and stars Neil Giuntoli, who returns to Prop Thtr after a number of years making films and television appearances. Neil's earlier plays at the Prop, The Life and Death of a Petty White Trash Hoodlum, and Crate Dweller were both critical and public successes, earning Jeff nominations and Jeff citations. This production is directed by Stefan Brun.
