Friday, November 17, 8 pm, CHRP Gala:
The CHRP Gala program begins with an exclusive performance of Charlie's Angels: A Tribute to Charlie Parker choreographed by Tony Award-winner Jason Samuels Smith and performed by LA/NYC-based women tappers Chloe Arnold, Ayodele Casel, and Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, and concludes with the innovative young company Tapeplas from Barcelona, Spain, performing BoomBach.
Saturday, November 18, 8:30 pm and Sunday, November 19, 3 pm
The Saturday and Sunday performances feature Tapeplas with BoomBach, as well as excerpts from the remarkable India Jazz Suites, a cross-cultural collaboration of Jason Samuels Smith and Kathak (classical Indian dance) master Pandit Chitresh Das accompanied by classical Indian and American jazz musicians including noted Chicago jazz pianist Jeremy Kahn.
