WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
In Rebecca Bossen's From The Forest, Sadiya flees from her native Sudan to work as a waitress in Chicago, only to discover that she can't outrun the consequences of her past. Encouraged by a new friendship and faced with the possibility of new love, Sadiya reveals she will forever bear the scars of her darkest secret. Can anyone be truly whole after such trauma? Can love grow in the aftermath of such pain?
