Clever 5th grader Nick Allen has a knack for causing trouble in the classroom but none of his schemes seem to work on his tough new teacher Mrs. Granger. That is until he learns how words are created and decides to create a word of his own: "frindle." Frindle catches on with Nick's classmates, then the whole school, then his entire town! It's a fun story about imagination, creativity and the power of words. Recommended for grades 4-8
