WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
It isn't every married 40-something woman with two children who can get an attractive 24-year-old man into bed. Nicky Silver's Free Will and Wanton Lust revolves around Claire, a wealthy, self-absorbed woman who takes lovers half her age to keep herself feeling young, beautiful and fulfilled. Her current lover is Tony, an artist who hopes Claire's money and social connections
will help further his career. Claire's children include 15-year-old daughter, Amy, who is bitter, intoxicated and possibly pregnant, and 20-year-old son, Philip, who brings home his brainy fiancée Vivian to meet Mom.
