WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
John McEntire and Shea Ako perform an hour-long set of original compositions. John McEntire is a member of the band Tortoise and plays many instruments, including drums, modular synthesizer, ring modulator guitar, electric harpsichord, and keyboards. McEntire and Ako, dubbed "mad scientists" by Time Out Chicago, both work at Soma Electronic Studio. Ako is a technician and McEntire is a recording engineer and owner. Face the Strange: New Music Chicago and Beyond occurs every fourth Tuesday of the month until April 2011. Beer, wine, beverages, and light fare are available for purchase.
