The Chicago Magic Lounge is a close-up magic show inspired by the long lost "magic bars" of Chicago. Schulien's, New York Lounge, Little Bit O' Magic, and many more clubs were once at the forefront of Chicago's nightlife scene. The Magic Lounge takes the best elements of these lost venues, and brings close-up magic to the tables, the bar, and the stage at the Uptown Underground. We recreate the wonder of a style of magic that dates back to the 1920's, simply known as "Chicago-Style" Magic.
The 1980s were all about glam, big hair, bright colors and totally rad pop music. Now, singer-songwriters Lisa Rock (lead singer of the nationally touring Close to You: The Music of the Carpenters) and Sari Greenberg (lead singer of the nationally touring Bad Romance) have compiled an homage to the unforgettable, sing-and-dance-along songs of the 80s. You'll hear songs from Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Pat Benatar, Michael Jackson, Culture Club, Duran Duran, Prince and all the iconic bands of the 80s, plus some fun new twists on favorite 80s tunes. Get out your hair spray, neon shirt and that one white glove and get ready for a night of fun – 80s style!
Get ready for a rockin' and 'Rocky' Halloween. Music from everyone's favorite Halloween "camp classic," Rocky Horror Picture Show is paired with rock songs from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's and presented in a cabaret-concert style. Audience members are encouraged to dress-up and interact with the cast: sing, play, and dance along!
Music includes: "The Time Warp," "Sweet Transvestite," "Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch Me," "Eddie's Teddy," and other songs from the musical, plus "I Put a Spell on You," "Monster Mash," "Delilah," "Purple People Eater," "Spooky" and more Halloween-themed rockin' pop tunes.
You'll be sizzlin' & swingin' as you enjoy all the hits spanning the lifetime of one of the greatest jazz vocalists and singer-songwriters of the 20th century, Miss Peggy Lee.

Chicago theatre standout Evan Tyrone Martin (Dreamgirls, Far From Heaven, Rent, Violet—Jeff Award Nomination) warmly resonates the velvety vocal style of musical legend Nat King Cole. Martin intimately relates Cole's musical journey: from his upbringing in the Chicago church, to shuffling along the jazz scene, to his emergence as a popular music icon. The enduring popularity of Cole's recordings, particularly his holiday standards, is a testimony to the timelessness of his sound, a sound synonymous with American tradition. Classic tunes include "Straighten Up and Fly Right," "L-O-V-E," and "Smile."
