WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
A small, insignificant, and faceless person -- a puppet made from a toddler onesie -- rivets the leaders of the world with an awe-inspiring voice. Show Your Face! is a virtuosic performance of puppetry, theater, dance, and live vocal and instrumental music in varied cabaret and musical theater styles. Testing the physicality of the human body and the constrictions of freedom, Show Your Face! examines the effects of courage (or lack thereof) in the 20th century. MCA Stage presents the Chicago debut of two leading Eastern-European companies working in collaboration: the Slovenian dance-theater company Betontanc and the Latvian puppet theater company Umka LV.
