WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

It's Summer 1971 on Berwyn Avenue in Chicago. We're bowling, boozing and bar-b-quelling. Two households, alike in dignity... the shimmer of the porch lights illuminates the Martini and Blahute houses. Harm and Gay Martini are about to celebrate 15 years of wedded bliss--and she hasn't killed him... yet! Sin Blahute, age 10, moves almost as quickly as her imagination. Layaway at Sears is the thing to do, and when Gay doesn't have enough for her shopping sprees, she just puts it on the charge!

Solid, Troubled
A solidly written, constructed, conceived and performed piece, occasionally run down by the perceived woe-is-me traumas for the characters. The characters just need fleshing out read: at least one more dimension in order to make this piece more engaging and less alienating.

saw it again! once again enjoyed it. i lived it,as i am Gay Martini! we lived in a tight knit block of berwyn ave. we sahred our hopes dreams, plans. sent our kids to private schools. we owned our own homes. We were not trash!
