About Face Youth Theatre 2005: The Home Project

This summer, AFYT is launching The Home Project, a month-long theatre laboratory exploring home and homelessness with a diverse ensemble of youth and adult artists. Lab activities employ the AFYT methods of movement, improvisation, storytelling, adaptation of oral history and ensemble building, with a team of teaching artists and youth leaders to create a workshop version of a new play based on the collected stories and lives of the participants. The lab will culminate in public performances of the material and be followed by youth-led civic dialogue about the topics raised in performance.
