Broadway favorites Laura Osnes and Steven Pasquale will star in Tony winner Rob Ashford's production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. The musical runs from April 11-May 3.

The 1945 musical follows the relationship between carousel barker Billy Bigelow (Pasquale) and millworker Julie Jordan (Osnes). The pair is joined by opera star Denyce Graves, who takes on the role of Nettie Fowler.

Julie Jordan marks the fifth Rodgers and Hammerstein heroine Osnes has played, following turns in New York as Nellie Forbush in South Pacific, Maria in The Sound of Music, Suzy in Pipe Dream, and Cinderella in Cinderella. She told TheaterMania in 2012 that Julie is a role she's dying to play.

Carousel will be conducted by David Chase, who will lead members of the Lyric Opera Orchestra and Chorus, with Ashford directing and choreographing. The creative team also includes Paolo Ventura (scenic design), Catherine Zuber (costume design), Neil Austin (lighting design), and Michael Black (chorus master). Full casting will be announced in the coming months.
