Tony nominee Norm Lewis will headline the Goodman Theatre's spring fundraising gala on May 21 at The Fairmont Chicago.

With a career spanning over 20 years, Lewis recently made Broadway history as the first African American actor to take on the title role in The Phantom of the Opera. He earned a Tony nomination in 2012 for his performance in The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess and has been seen in a number of other Broadway productions including Miss Saigon, The Who's Tommy, Chicago, Side Show, The Wild Party, Amour, Les Misérables, The Little Mermaid, and Sondheim on Sondheim. On television, he also appears regularly as "Senator Edison Davis" on the ABC drama Scandal.

At the May 21 event, Lewis will perform a selection of tunes from his Broadway career, including music from Porgy and Bess, Sondheim on Sondheim, Les Misérables, Chicago, and more.

The black-tie gala is cochaired by Goodman Trustee and Women’s Board Member Susan Wislow, Women’s Board Member Linda Krivkovich, and Board of Trustees member David Fox.

Tickets start at $1,000 and can be purchased by calling 312-443-3811 ext. 586. All proceeds benefit the Goodman Theatre’s Education and Community Engagement programs.
