Chicago Fire's Monica Raymund has been cast in Lookingglass Theatre Company's Thaddeus and Slocum.

Lookingglass Theatre Company has announced casting for the remainder of its 2015-16 season, which includes Federico Garcia Lorca’s Blood Wedding and the world premiere of Thaddeus and Slocum: A Vaudeville Adventure, written by ensemble member Kevin Douglas.

Directed by Ensemble Member Daniel Ostling, Blood Wedding (March 2-April 24) follows a young bride-to-be who receives a visit from a former paramour that awakens a family blood feud. The cast will feature ensemble members Eva Barr and Christine Dunford, with artistic associates Kareen Bandealy and Troy West as well as Atra Asdou, Chance Bone, Wendy Mateo, Melisa Pereyra, Helen Sadler, Kevin Viol, and Bubba Weiler.

With codirection by ensemble member J. Nicole Brooks and Krissy Vanderwarker, Thaddeus and Slocum (June 1-August 7) takes place in 1908 when only thing stopping Thaddeus and Slocum from becoming the next great stage act "is as simple — and complicated — as black and white." The show's cast includes ensemble members Lawrence E. DiStasi and Raymond Fox, with Molly Brennan, Broadway veteran Adam Brown (Once), Sharriese Hamilton, Tosin Morohunfola, Monica Raymund of NBC’s Chicago Fire, Samuel Taylor, and Travis Turner.

Lookingglass Theatre Company was founded in 1988 by eight Northwestern University students. Now in its 28th season, Lookingglass has staged 62 world premieres, and received 101 Joseph Jefferson awards and nominations.
