Disney Theatrical Productions has announced that the Broadway version of Aladdin will launch a North American tour in Chicago at the Cadillac Palace Theatre, beginning April 11, 2017. The 12-week engagement is set to play through July 2. Future engagements and casting information will be announced in the coming months.

Based on the 1992 Disney animated film, Aladdin opened at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre on March 20, 2014. The production currently stars Adam Jacobs as Aladdin, Courtney Reed as Jasmine, and Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart as the Genie.

Featuring a score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice with songs such as "Friend Like Me" and the Academy Award-winning "A Whole New World," Aladdin features a new book and additional lyrics by Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer).

The creative team includes Bob Crowley (scenic design), Gregg Barnes (costume design), Natasha Katz (lighting design), Ken Travis (sound design), Jim Steinmeyer (illusions), Josh Marquette (hair design), Michael Kosarin (music supervisor/vocal and incidental arrangements), Danny Troob (orchestrator), and Glen Kelly (dance music arranger).
