League of Chicago Theatres Announces Newly Elected Board and Executive Committee Members

The Chicago theater alliance welcomes new leaders to its Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

The League of Chicago Theatres has announced the list of a newly minted Board of Directors and Executive Committee. The Executive Committee includes Board Chair Kate Lipuma, Executive Director of the Writers Theatre; Vice Chair Rachel Kraft, Executive Director of Lookingglass Theatre Company; Treasurer Heather Schmucker, Associate Producer of Chicago Shakespeare Theatre; and Secretary Dan McArdle, Managing Director of The Neo-Futurists. The four new board members, elected by members of the League, include Brittany Barnes, Managing Director of the Pavement Group; Peter Handler, Program Director of the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation; Bill Melamed, Chief Marketing and Development Officer of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago; and Regina Taylor, Artistic Collective of the Goodman Theatre.

The League of Chicago Theatres is an alliance made up of over 200 theaters that serves to promote Chicago’s theater industry locally, nationally, and internationally. “Our newly appointed Executive Committee Members have been dedicated members of our Board of Directors, demonstrating leadership and expertise in the Chicago theater community,” Executive Director Deb Clapp said in a statement. “With their continued leadership and the addition of these passionate new Board Members, I am very excited for the League of Chicago Theatres’ continued growth.”
