PHOTO FLASH: Peter Billingsley, John Bolton, Andrea McArdle et al. at Opening of A Christmas Story, The Musical!

Andrea McArdle was among the opening night guests for A Christmas Story, The Musical!, at the Chicago Theatre, on Wednesday, December 14 .

The musical features a score by composer/lyricist team Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, and a book by Joseph Robinette based on the writings of radio humorist Jean Shepherd and the 1983 holiday film favorite. Peter Billingsley, who starred as Ralphie in the film, is a producer for the show, and was on hand to help celebrate this final leg in a five-city tour.

John Rando has directed the production, which Warren Carlyle choreographed. The cast features John Bolton (The Old Man), Gene Weygandt (Jean Shepherd), Clarke Hallum (Ralphie), Rachel Bay Jones (The Mother), Matthew Lewis (Randy), Karen Mason (Miss Shields), and Adam Pelty (Santa Claus).

The ensemble includes John Francis Babbo, Jonathan Burke, Andrew Cristi, Sally Elting, Nick Gaswirth, Nicholas Gonzalez, Casey Gorab, Drea Gordon, Leslie Henstock, Carl Kimbrough, Sean McKnight, Mara Newbery, Lyn Philistine, Charlie Plummer, Alex Puette, Johnny Rabe, Kayla Rea, J.D. Rodriguez, Emily Rudolph, Jake Bennett Siegfried, Marguerite Willbanks, George Andrew Wolff, and Kirsten Wyatt.
