Martha Plimpton to Be Honored at the Steppenwolf Salutes Women in the Arts Luncheon

Martha Plimpton will be the honoree at the Steppenwolf Salutes Women in the Arts luncheon to be held on March 15 at noon at The W Chicago – City Center.

Martha Lavey will serve as host for the event, which will raise funds for Steppenwolf Theatre’s Company’s Professional Leadership Program, which provides services and opportunities for young theater professionals. The program at the luncheon will have be an interview between Lavey and Plimpton, who will be discussing her career on stage, film, and television.

Plimpton, a member of the Steppenwolf company, has received Tony Award nominations for her performances in Pal Joey, Top Girls, and The Coast of Utopia. Among her many other stage credits are Cymbeline, Shining City, Pericles, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hurlyburly, and Hobson’s Choice.

On film, she has appeared in such movies as Rollover, The Goonies, The Mosquito Coast, Running on Empty, Parenthood and Pecker. In addition, she currently stars on FOX’s Raising Hope.
