Fisher, Gudahl, Whitaker et al. Set for The Wild Duck in Chicago

Full cast and creative team information has been announced for Richard Nelson’s world premiere translation of Henrik Ibsen’s modernist classic The Wild Duck, to be presented by Court Theatre in Chicago. Charles Newell will direct the production, which will play the MCA Stage at the Museum of Contemporary Art, January 15-February 15, with an opening set for January 23.

In the play, the peaceful lives of the Ekdal family are turned upside down by an idealistic young family friend. The cast will include Maury Cooper (Old Ekdal), Mary Beth Fisher (Gina Ekdal), Timothy Edward Kane (Relling), Kevin Gudahl (Hialmar Ekdal), Johanna McKenzie Miller (Mrs. Sorsby), John Reeger (Werle), Laura Scheinbaum (Hedvig Ekdal) Rob Lindley (Peterson/Molvik) Henry Odum (Graberg), and Jay Whitaker (Gregers Werle).

The creative team will include Leigh Breslau (scenic design), Andre Pleuss (sound design), Jennifer Tipton (lighting design), and Jacqueline Firkins (costume design).
