Jim Belushi, Stephen Colbert, Andrea Martin, Martin Short, et al. Set for Second City 50th Anniversary

Second City has announced the complete schedule for its 50th anniversary celebration. As previously reported, Joe Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Catherine O’Hara, Harold Ramis, Martin Short, and Dave Thomas will be featured in the SCTV Reunion, a benefit for The Second City Alumni Fund. The show will be held at the theater’s home on Wells Street in Chicago, Friday December 11 at 7pm and 10 pm.

The Second City Alumni: One Night Only will feature alumni from every generation performing classic scenes from Second City’s archive. Performers are scheduled to include Scott Adsit, Jim Belushi, Danny Breen, Frank Caeti, Larry Joe Campbell, Steve Carell, Dan Castellaneta, Stephen Colbert, Kevin Dorff, Robin Duke, Brian Gallivan, Martin Garcia, Jeff Garlin, Ian Gomez, Peter Grosz, Mike Hagerty, Isabella Hoffman, Bruce Jarchow, Fred Kaz, Tim Kazurinsky, Keegan Michael Key, Richard Kind, Robert Klein, David Koechner, Mina Kolb, Bob Martin, Jack McBrayer, Susan Messing, Colin Mochrie, Maribeth Monroe, Jane Morris, Bob Odenkirk, David Pasquesi, Harold Ramis, David Rasche, Horatio Sanz, Jim Staahl, Betty Thomas, Nia Vardalos, George Wendt, and Fred Willard. It will be presented in both the Mainstage and e.t.c. Theatres on Saturday, December 12 at 7pm.

Live performances will also include Women Fully Clothed featuring Toronto alumni; All Girl Revue, featuring a Los Angeles-based troupe; and Switchboard. The celebration will also include various alumni panels with participants including Adsit, Belushi, Colbert, Klein, Martin, McBrayer, Rachel Dratch, Short, and many others; as well as various screenings of interviews, documentaries, and archival footage.

The Second City began as a small cabaret theater in 1959, and has grown to become a comedy empire, with its business based on its core improvisational methodologies.
